WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's tennis team (6-7, 2-0) remained undefeated in Conference Carolinas play with a 4-3 home victory over Francis Marion (5-6, 0-2) Tuesday at the Bulldogs Complex.

Tilde Howeler (Stockholm, SWEDEN) and freshman
Irma Granstam (Linkoping, SWEDEN) won at first doubles for the sixth straight match with their 6-4 triumph over Francis Marion's Chelsea Seidewitz (Fassberg, GERMANY) and Julie Martincova (Liberec, CZECH REPUBLIC).
Howeler and Granstam also prevailed in singles action at No. 1 and No. 5, respectively. The duo is 9-1 at first doubles on the season.
Barton travels to Due West, S.C., to take on Erskine in a league match Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m., while Francis Marion hosts Belmont Abbey Friday at 2:00 p.m.
