PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Barton men's and women's swimming teams competed Saturday afternoon at UNC Pembroke's Tri-Meet at the Sue Walsh Swimming Pool.
On the men's side, Barton defeated Roanoke by a 148-114 score while the Bulldogs fell to UNC Pembroke (197-60) and Roanoke (169-86) in the women's competition.
Barton was led by freshman
Ryan Mcanallen (Saint Augustine, Fla.), who competed in both first-place relays – the men's 200-yard medley (1:37.32) and men's 200-yard freestyle (1:27.97) – and won the men's 100-yard and 200-yard backstrokes with times of 52.80 and 1:58.91, respectively.
Barton sophomore
Ethan Robinson (Dacula, Ga.) was also part of both winning relays and touched the line first in men's 50-yard freestyle (21.50).
The Bulldogs also received first-place performances from senior
Ethan Maddrey (Sims, N.C.) and junior
Owen Rasinske (Hillsborough, N.C.) in the men's 200-yard freestyle (1:45.14) and the 100-yard freestyle (48.42) events, respectively.
Barton swimming next competes at the Pacer Invite on Friday, November 17, and Saturday, November 18, in Cary, N.C., at the Triangle Aquatic Center.
