BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Barton women's tennis team (12-11, 7-4) closed out the regular season with a 5-2 victory over King (3-13, 1-10) Saturday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas contest at the Tornado Complex.
The Bulldogs, winners of three straight contests, were led by senior
Isabella Caballero (La Paz, BOLIVIA) and freshmen
Tilde Howeler (Stockholm, SWEDEN) and
Silvia Fernandez-Trabadelo (Barcelona, SPAIN). All three players for Barton won at singles and doubles.
Caballero increased her winning streak in singles' competition to 10 and has teamed with Fernandez-Trabadelo to win eight consecutive matches at second doubles. Caballero has also finished 9-1 against league opponents this season.
Barton is the fifth seed in the 2022 Conference Carolinas Championship and will face eighth-seeded Converse (7-12) in the first round of the league tournament on Friday, April 29, at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, S.C.
