WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's basketball team (22-1, 18-1), ranked No. 8 in NCAA Division II, rolled in the second half on its way to a 91-65 victory over Chowan (14-8, 14-6) Tuesday evening in a Conference Carolinas contest at Wilson Gymnasium.

Barton was led by senior forward Jami Tham (Arlington, Va.) with 27 points and 13 rebounds while senior center Shanika Peterkin (Virginia Beach, Va.) added 21 points as the Bulldogs won their 16th straight contest and remained in sole possession of first place in the league standings.

The Bulldogs turned on the offense in the second half, rolling up 57 points and using a 20-4 run between both the third and fourth periods to take control.  Barton shot 71 percent (22-of-31) after intermission and forced Chowan into 21 turnovers in completing the season sweep of the Hawks.
