WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's tennis team (6-2, 2-0) picked up a 6-1 Conference Carolinas victory over Lees-McRae (3-1, 1-1) Sunday afternoon at the Bulldogs' Complex.
A pair of players – junior
Diego Agudelo (Bogata, COLUMBIA) and senior
Oscar Marmestedt (Akersberga, SWEDEN) – won in singles' action and teamed at No. 1 doubles to down Lees-McRae's Jofre Tura-Campalans (Barcelona, SPAIN) and Landon Church (Wilkesboro, N.C.) by a 6-1 score to kickstart the Bulldogs' rout.
Barton senior
Alessandro Gerbino (Borlange, SWEDEN) also won at third singles to improve to 7-0 on the year in singles' competition.
Barton next travels to Raleigh, N.C., to take on Shaw beginning at 1:00 p.m., while Lees-McRae travels to Franklin Springs, Ga., to take on Emmanuel (Ga.) on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m.
