WILSON, N.C. – The Barton softball team (1-3) fell to UNC Pembroke (4-2) by scores of 3-1 and 5-2 in a doubleheader setback Wednesday afternoon at Jeffries Field.
Game One – UNC Pembroke 3, Barton 1
UNC Pembroke's Rendi Wetherington (Vanceboro, N.C.) finished with three hits and a run-scoring double while Raygan Larson (Cordele, Ga.) (2-0) improved to 2-0 on the year after allowing just one run over six innings of work and Lauren Gammons (Willard, N.C.) pitched a scoreless seventh inning for the save.

Lindsey Massengill (Pine Level, N.C.) drove in a run with an RBI single in the bottom of the first but freshman
Rilee Jones (Virginia Beach, Va.) took the loss despite going the distance.
Game Two – UNC Pembroke 5, Barton 2
UNC Pembroke's Mary Sells (Statesville, N.C.) drove in three runs while Emily Biddle (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) hit an RBI triple as the Braves completed the sweep of the Bulldogs. Jordan Hall (St. Charles, Ill.) improved to 2-0 with the win while Abby White (Midlothian, Va.) notched the save after pitching nearly three innings of scoreless softball.

Barton looks to bounce back against William Peace on Friday in a doubleheader at home beginning at 1:00 p.m., while UNC Pembroke plays on the road against Limestone on Thursday starting at 1:00 p.m.
