WILSON, N.C. – The Barton College women's basketball team (6-1, 6-1) ran its winning streak to four games with a convincing 91-55 victory over Converse (3-6, 2-6) Saturday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas game at Wilson Gymnasium.

Jami Tham-Morrobel (Arlington, Va.) finished with a game-high 22 points while junior guard
Akira Wiggins (Knightdale, N.C.) added 19 points as the Bulldogs shot 51 percent (38-of-75) from the field and improved to 4-0 at home this season.
Senior All-American center
Shanika Peterkin (Virginia Beach, Va.) added a double-double – 11 points and 15 rebounds – for the Bulldogs, who also ran their winning streak at Wilson Gymnasium to 13 contests. Barton held a 33-23 advantage at halftime before breaking the contest open in the third quarter thanks to a 12-2 run to start the half.
Converse was led by Keyshuna Fair (Anderson, S.C.) with 18 points but the Valkyries shot just 32 percent (19-of-60) from the field and turned the ball over 19 times in the loss. Barton also remained tied for first place in the league standings with Belmont Abbey.
Barton remains at home to take on Chowan in conference action Tuesday evening beginning at 5:00 p.m., while Converse hosts Southern Wesleyan Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
