Barton men's and women's track competes at the 2020 Conference Carolinas Indoor Championships

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Barton men's and women's track and field teams competed on Sunday at the 2020 Conference Carolinas Indoor Championships which took place at the JDL Fast Track.

On the women's side, the Bulldogs finished in ninth place while Mount Olive won its seventh consecutive league title.

Barton junior Jasmine Watson (Suffolk, Va.) earned all-league honors in the women's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.98 seconds.

In the men's competition, Barton took sixth overall while Mount Olive made it four league titles in a row.

Two Bulldogs' athletes – senior Avery Smith (Charlotte, N.C.) and junior Chianti Ghee (Fayetteville, N.C.) – earned all-conference accolades in the men's weight throw with marks of 52'9" and 52'3, respectively.

Barton track and field will open the outdoor portion of its schedule on Saturday, March 13, at the Wendy's Seahawk Invitational in Wilmington, N.C., on the campus of UNC Wilmington.
