LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Barton College men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed today at the 2019 Liberty Kickoff at the Liberty University Indoor Track Complex.
Barton senior and two-time All-American Larry Russell (Sicklerville, N.J.) finished second in the men's long jump with a 23'9". Russell also finished eighth overall in the triple jump (46'2").
In addition, freshman Deshawn Owens (Pikeville, N.C.) finished 21st overall in the men's 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:47.32 while sophomore Evan Lee (Wilson, N.C.) took 27th in the men's one-mile run (4:37.14) for the Bulldogs.
In the women's 5,000-meter run, Barton junior Meghan Araldi (Albany, N.Y.) was 12th overall with a time of 20:11.43.
The Barton men's and women's indoor track and field teams continue their season next Sunday, February 3, at the Vince Brown Invitational in Newport News, Va. Christopher Newport University will serve as the host institution.
