WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's soccer team (4-2-1) continued its recent offensive surge with a 4-0 victory over Regent (Virginia) (0-4) Wednesday evening at the Bulldogs Athletic Complex.

Barton junior midfielder Maddie Adkins (Princeton, N.C.) scored twice while senior midfielder Katie Christiansen (Niantic, Conn.) found the back of the net for the match-winner just 17:17 into the contest as the Bulldogs totaled eight goals in the past two days – both victories.

Christiansen stole the ball from a Royals' defender and drove down the center and placed the ball in the right side of the net for her second goal of the season.

Barton senior defender Geziel Wilson (Camden Park, St. Vincent and the Grenadines) then punched the ball in right in front of the net off a corner kick from freshman midfielder Ashley Dakis (Prince Frederick, Md.) in the 26th minute for a 2-0 advantage entering intermission

Adkins rounded out the scoring with both goals in the second half – her first two of the year – at the 52:51 and 57:09 marks, respectively, for the Bulldogs, who held a 29-4 advantage in shots taken.

The duo of freshman goalkeeper Rachel Cox (Wilson, N.C.) and sophomore Kianna Webb (Waldorf, Md.) combined for the shutout while Genesis Torrent suffered the loss in goal for Regent despite 12 saves.

Barton returns to Conference Carolinas play on Saturday when the Bulldogs host Limestone at 1:30 p.m.
