WILSON, N.C. – The Barton College women's soccer team has released its 2019 schedule with a new mentor on the sidelines. The slate includes nine matches at home with the first regular season contest at the Bulldogs Athletic Complex scheduled for Saturday, September 7, at 4:30 p.m., against Coker.
The 2019 opener takes place on Thursday, September 5, against CIAA-member Shaw at 11:00 a.m., in Raleigh, N.C.
"We are very excited about the 2019 season and what can be achieved," said Barton Head Women's Soccer Coach Andy McNab. "The ladies will have to negotiate a tough non-conference schedule as well as difficult road games in conference. Our hope is to make Wilson (N.C.) a difficult place to come play for visiting teams as well as picking up vital points on the road to achieve our goal of making the playoffs."
The schedule also includes a key home match against Limestone (17-3, 11-0), the defending the Conference Carolinas Regular Season and Tournament Champions, on Saturday, September 28, at 1:30 p.m.
Barton will also host Erskine on Homecoming (Saturday, October 19) and Emmanuel (Ga.) for Senior Day (Saturday, October 26). Both matches are scheduled to kick off at 1:30 p.m.
The Bulldogs will look to build on last year's late-season surge. Barton (10-6-2, 5-5-1) went 4-0-1 in its final five matches and advanced to the semifinals of the league tournament as the seventh seed.
