BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Barton men's volleyball team (20-4, 13-2) saw its 14-match winning streak come to an end with a 3-1 loss to King (17-9, 13-2) Friday evening at the Student Athletic Center in a Conference Carolinas showdown.

The Tornado won by scores 25-23, 23-25, 25-18 and 25-20 and the two teams are now tied for first in the conference regular season standings with one contest to go.

King – winners of five consecutive matches – was led by Seah Kohlhase (Peoria, Ariz.) and Joshua Kim (Garden Grove, Calif.) with 15 kills each as the Tornado avenged an earlier loss to the Bulldogs:  a 3-0 win by Barton on Friday, February 15, in Wilson, N.C.

Barton was led by senior outside hitter Vasilis Mandilaris (Chalkida, GREECE) and junior middle blocker Angelos Mandilaris (Chalkida, GREECE) with 17 and 16 kills, respectively, in the losing effort.  Angelos Mandilaris continues to lead the team in total kills with 378.

Barton junior setter Oscar Fiorentino (Bayamon, PUERTO RICO) added 47 assists but the Bulldogs hit just .244 for the match and were hurt by 17 service errors.

Barton can clinch at least a share of the league regular season championship when the Bulldogs travel to Banner Elk, N.C., to take on Lees-McRae Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m., while King hosts Mount Olive Saturday at 2:00 p.m., as well.
