TEMPE, Ariz. – The Barton College men's tennis team put four on the 2019 ITA All-Academic Scholar-Athlete Team.  ITA is the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.  The Bulldogs were also an All-Academic Team honoree.

Junior Rory Gaydon (Darlington, ENGLAND) and sophomores Alessandro Gerbino (Borlange, SWEDEN), Hugh Ryder (Dartmouth, ENGLAND) and Oscar Marmestedt (Akersberga, SWEDEN) all earned scholar-athlete honors this year for the Bulldogs.  Gaydon, Gerbino and Ryder were named ITA Scholar-Athletes for the second straight season.

Both Gaydon and Marmestedt were named to the 2019 All-Conference Carolinas Third Team.  Gaydon totaled 11 victories at both No. 2 singles and doubles while Marmestedt (12-9, 6-3) was the team's third singles player.

Gerbino notched eight victories at fourth singles while Ryder won 10 times at both singles and doubles competition for the Bulldogs this year.  All four players led Barton to an 11-10 record including a 6-3 mark in Conference Carolinas play – good for a third-place tie in the league regular season standings – and a berth in the conference tournament.
