WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's soccer team (6-1-1, 2-1) won an overtime thriller over Limestone (2-5, 0-2), 2-1, in Conference Carolinas action Saturday afternoon at the Bulldogs Athletic Complex.

Barton freshman forward Omar Aboutaleb (Asheboro, N.C.) shot the match-winner 2:26 into the first overtime after receiving an over-the-top pass from the middle of the field courtesy of sophomore midfielder Ludovic Rocha (Boulogne Billancourt, FRANCE) and beat the keeper on the run.  The goal was Aboutaleb's first with the Bulldogs, who won their fourth consecutive contest.

Barton junior forward Ruben Mancio (Olvera, SPAIN) opened the scoring in the 28th minute with his second score of the season before Limestone tied the contest on a goal by Tristyn de Laaf (Dubai, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES) at the 55:01 mark of the second half.  The match remained one-all until Aboutaleb's heroics.

In goal, Barton freshman goalkeeper Jacob Randolph (Metairie, La.) kept Limestone at bay and picked up the win after stopping seven shots while Clement Anet (Cosse le Vivien, FRANCE) took the loss for the Saints.  Limestone held a 14-4 edge in shots taken but the Bulldogs certainly made the most of their chances.

Barton faces Chowan in a Conference Carolinas match on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m., in Murfreesboro, N.C., while Limestone hosts second-ranked Young Harris Wednesday beginning at 5:00 p.m.
