WILSON, N.C. – The Barton College men's soccer team recently released its 2019 schedule and the slate features 10 home contests including the season opener at the Bulldogs Athletic Complex against Catawba on Thursday, September 5, at 7:00 p.m.

"We are looking forward to our 2019 schedule," said Barton Head Men's Soccer Coach Ian McMichael.  "We will play quality opponents from within in our region as well as strong programs from across the state of North Carolina."

A key match is scheduled for Saturday, September 28, against Limestone at home at 4:00 p.m.  The Saints (13-4-1, 8-2-1) won both the Conference Carolinas Regular Season and Tournament Championships in 2018 and earned a berth to the NCAA Division II Playoffs.

The slate also includes a neutral site contest against West Liberty on Tuesday, September 24, at 7:00 p.m., at the Virginia Soccer Association Complex in Haymarket, Va.  A four-match home stand will take place in late October including the annual Homecoming affair against Erskine on Saturday, October 19, at 4:00 p.m.

"Each opponent in our conference will present a different challenge and we expect each conference game to be tough and competitive battle," said McMichael.  "As with any season, we will take it one game at a time and we are excited to open our 2019 season at home against on fifth of September (against Catawba)."

The 2019 Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Championship begins with the Quarterfinal Round on Saturday, November 9.  The Bulldogs finished with a record of 8-7-1 on the year including a 4-5-1 mark in league play last fall.  McMichael is entering his third season with Barton.
