Barton men’s golf takes 12th overall at the 2019 Queens Fall Invitational

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – The Barton College men's golf team finished the 2019 Queens Fall Invitational in 12th place overall with the third and final round taking place Tuesday at The Club at Irish Creek.

Barton shot an 871 (+19) on the par-71, 7,024-yard course after 54 holes of play while Georgia Southwestern, ranked No. 3 in NCAA Division II, rallied from a third-place standing entering the day to win the tournament with a 17-under 835. 

The Hurricanes beat No. 16 Lincoln Memorial and No. 5 USC Aiken by two and six strokes, respectively.

Barton was led by junior Bryson Boyette (Wilson, N.C.), who tied for sixth overall with a four-under 209 after three rounds of play.  Georgia Southwestern's Vincent Norrman (Stockholm, SWEDEN) beat USC Aiken's Leo Johansson (Djurö, SWEDEN) in a playoff to take the individual title.  Both players shot a 205 (-8).

The tournament wrapped up the Fall 2019 season for the Bulldogs.
