Barton men’s golf takes second place at the 2019 Griffin Invitational

PETERSBURG, Va. – The Barton men's golf team finished in sole possession of second place at the 2019 Griffin Invitational which concluded Tuesday at the Country Club of Petersburg.

The Bulldogs finished with an 863 (-1) on the par-72, 7,013-yard course including a tournament-best seven-under 281 for the third and final round today.  Palm Beach Atlantic won the tournament with a total score of 852 (-12).

Barton was led by junior Bryson Boyette (Wilson, N.C.) and senior Dominic O'Brien (Warrington, ENGLAND), who both tied for ninth overall with a 215 (-1) after 54 holes of play.  Martin Westerlund (Stockholm, SWEDEN) of Palm Beach Atlantic won the three-round tournament with a 13-under 203, seven strokes clear.

Barton returns to the course on Monday, October 14, and Tuesday, October 15, to compete in the Donald Ross Intercollegiate in Morganton, N.C., at the Mimosa Hills Golf and Country Club.
