PETERSBURG, Va. – The Barton men's golf team is tied for second place after the first day of the 2019 Griffin Invitational Monday at the Country Club of Petersburg.  A total of 12 schools are competing in the tournament.

Barton shot a 582 (+6) on the par-72, 7,013-yard course after two rounds of play while Palm Beach Atlantic leads by 18 strokes after shooting a 12-under 564.

Three Bulldogs – junior Bryson Boyette (Wilson, N.C.) and seniors Dominic O'Brien (Warrington, ENGLAND) and Logan Zimarino (Swansboro, N.C.) – are all tied for 12th overall after finishing the day with an even-par 144.  Palm Beach Atlantic's Martin Westerlund (Stockholm, SWEDEN) leads with one round to go after carding a 134 (-10).

The third and final round takes place on Tuesday.
