Barton’s Jacob Marcos earns 2019 All-State Baseball College Division honors

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – Barton College's Jacob Marcos has been named to the 2019 NCCSIA College Division All-State Baseball Second Team.  NCCSIA is the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association.

Marcos, a freshman outfielder from Miami, Fla., led the team in several offensive categories this year including batting average (.362), runs scored (45), hits (71), total bases (93), slugging percentage (.459) and stolen bases (15).

Marcos also started all 51 games in addition to two home runs and 33 runs batted in while earning 2019 All-Conference Carolinas Second-Team accolades.  Marcos led Barton (31-20, 17-9) to a second-place finish in the league regular season standings as well.

Nominations were submitted by North Carolina sports information professionals and voted on by NCCSIA members.

Founded in 2002, the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) is comprised of sports information professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions from the state of North Carolina. The purpose of the organization is to promote collegiate athletics at all schools. Membership is open to anyone affiliated with a college, university or conference located in North Carolina, and whose area of responsibility lies within sports information.

NCCSIA selects all-state teams in the University (NCAA Division I) and College (NCAA Division II, III, NAIA) divisions for men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, softball, and baseball.
