WILSON, N.C. – The Barton College men's and women's cross country teams open the season under first-year Head Coach Tyler Amerson on Saturday, September 7, at the Fleet Feet Invitational at Salisbury Community Park in Salisbury, N.C. The Bulldogs recently announced their schedule.
The Bulldogs then travel a short distance on Saturday, September 21, to compete in the North Carolina Wesleyan Invitational in Rocky Mount, N.C., before a pair of races at McAlpine Park in Charlotte, N.C.: Queen City Invitational on Friday, September 27 at 5:00 p.m., and the Royals Challenge on Friday, October 11, at 4:30 p.m.
Barton also makes the trek to Greenville, N.C., to compete in East Carolina University's Pirate Invitational on Friday, October 18, at 4:45 p.m., before the 2019 Conference Carolinas Championships. The University of Mount Olive once again hosts the league championship on Saturday, October 26.
"I'm excited for the upcoming cross country season and to see what we can accomplish," said Barton Head Coach Tyler Amerson. "We have a good layout of meets that will give us the opportunity to improve and progress throughout the season. Our hope is that we continue to grow and have our best performances come the conference championship."
The 2019 NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Championship are scheduled for Saturday, November 9, in Wingate, N.C., while the D-II Championships are set for Saturday, November 23, at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex in Sacramento, Calif.
The Barton men's and women's cross country teams were picked sixth and tied for ninth in the 2019 Conference Carolinas Head Coaches Preseason Poll.
