COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Barton men's and women's swimming teams both earned Scholar All-America Team honors for the Spring of 2019 by the CSCAA. The CSCAA is the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association.
For the semester, the Bulldogs' women's squad had a 3.22 GPA while the men's squad fashioned a grade point average of 3.07. The two NCAA Division II schools with the top grade point average for the semester were Emmnauel (Ga.) (women) and Bridgeport (Conn.) (men.). A record 777 teams were named to the combined lists.
The Bulldogs' men's team won the first Conference Carolinas Championship in history in February while the women's squad was runner-up but had the 2018-19 league co-women's swimmers of the year in sophomore Nicola Macdonald (Durban, SOUTH AFRICA) and sophomore Kleanza Cathers (Kitimat, British Columbia, CANADA). Macdonald was also a 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District® III Women's At-Large honoree for NCAA Division II.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) is the first organization of college coaches in America. The CSCAA is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
