HIGH POINT, N.C. – For the second time in the past three weeks, Barton College freshman Kaytlin Elkins has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week.

The outside hitter from Hope Mills, N.C., was honored by the league on Tuesday after raising her league-leading kills per set average while helping the Lady Bulldogs extend their conference record to 8-0 with a pair of wins.

Elkins averaged 4.29 kills per set in wins over King University and Lees-McRae College, raising her season average to 4.06, which ranks 24th nationally in NCAA Division II. She delivered 16 kills in a four-set win over King, and added 14 kills in a straight-set triumph over Lees-McRae. Elkins has now recorded double-figure kills in 11 straight matches.

A Barton player has now received the award each of the past three weeks, a run that coincides with the team's nine-match overall winning streak. Setter Angelica Acevedo was last week's recipient.
