WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Barton College women's track team recorded four all-conference finishes and broke a pair of school records on Sunday while competing in the 2018 Conference Carolinas Indoor Track and Field Championships at JDL Fast Track.

Senior Sharon Kiptoo reached the podium twice with top-three performances. The Eldoret, Kenya, resident took second place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:25.49, and claimed third in the mile with a mark of 5:24.83.

Freshman Jasmine Watson broke her own school record in the 60-meter hurdles with a run of 8.82 seconds. The mark was just one one-hundredth of a second off an NCAA provisional time. The Suffolk, Va., resident finished second in the event behind Skylar Julian of Southern Wesleyan University, who broke the meet record with a mark of 8.77.

Sophomore Janae Cunningham also broke her own school record, this one in the weight throw. The Hubert, N.C., resident produced a toss of 13.84 meters, well past her old standard of 13.40 meters set in the first meet of the year. Cunningham placed third in the event to gain all-conference honors for the first time in indoor competition.

Kiptoo's two individual finishes earned the team 14 points, and she was part of an eighth-place 4x400-meter relay team that earned one more point. Watson was part of that 4x4 squad as well, and also collected eight points for her own second-place finish.

Cunningham gained six points for her third-place showing. Competing in the same event, sophomore Kelsey Poole came in seventh, earning two points to round out Barton's team total of 31. The point total earned the Lady Bulldogs sixth place in the field of nine teams.

Meghan Araldi, who joined Andrea Mills in completing the 4x400-meter team, recorded a personal record during the meet in the 5000-meter run (20:05.57).
