Morris was honored after recording an NCAA provisional and national top-20 mark of 11.85 meters in the triple jump over the weekend at the VertKlasse Meeting, which was hosted by High Point University.
The Edison, N.J., resident was the top NCAA Division II performer in the meet and placed fifth overall among 38 competitors in the event.
Her mark is tied for 19th nationally in NCAA Division II for the outdoor season and leads Conference Carolinas.
Morris also placed 15th out of 41 participants in another field event, the long jump, with a mark of 5.32 meters.
She found success on the track in High Point as well, breaking her own school record in the 100-meter hurdles after a run of 14.95 seconds. Morris placed 19th in the event out of 60 competitors.
The award is the first of the outdoor season for a member of the Lady Bulldogs. Morris also received the honor once during the indoor season.
Barton will return to competition on Saturday in Charlotte at the JCSU Invitational hosted by Johnson C. Smith University.
