WILSON, N.C. – An 8-1 decision for the Barton College women's tennis team against North Greenville University on Friday gave the Bulldogs their fourth consecutive victory with just one regular season Conference Carolinas match to play.

Barton (12-9, 8-2) tallied its eighth league victory on Friday and secured a winning mark in league play for the fourth time in the last five seasons. North Greenville (2-16, 1-7) competed short-handed in the match as just four players suited up for the Crusaders.

The Bulldogs swept both doubles matches against the Crusaders as junior Daria Avram and sophomore Marissa Stevenson defeated Fernanda de Lucca and Laura Brazuelo 8-4. Junior Vanessa Sanoja and freshman Ada Vargas tallied an 8-0 victory against North Greenville's Faith Moyers and Merit Morgan as Barton took a 3-0 lead into singles play.

Vargas recorded an 8-0 victory for BC at the No. 4 spot against NGU's Morgan. Stevenson notched her 12th straight singles win with an 8-1 decision at the No. 2 position against Brazuelo.
