WILSON, N.C.-The top three players in the Lady Bulldogs lineups did not lose a game as the Barton College women's tennis team dominated William Peace College, 9-0, on Friday afternoon at the Barton Tennis Complex.

The Lady Bulldogs begin dual play for 2012-13 at 1-0 while the Pacers start 0-1.

Senior Lindsey Frederick, sophomore Alicia Lasry and freshman Smiljana Kljajic all posted perfect 6-0, 6-0 wins.

Kljajic recorded her first collegiate dual match win playing at the top of the Royal Blue and White lineup while sophomore Meredith Pruden also notched her first collegiate win with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at No. 4 after transferring in from UNC Wilmington.

Frederick and Lasry – who competed at second and third positions in singles action – paired up as the top doubles twosome and won 8-0. The rookie duo of Kljajic-Pruden matched Frederick-Lasry in the middle doubles draw with a sweep. Junior Caroline Fischer and senior Francesca Del Pozo had little trouble in the final doubles match winning 8-1.

Fischer at No. 5 and Del Pozo at No. 6 finished off the sweep with matching 6-1, 6-0 conquests.

"It was a nice match to start the season but the ladies know things will get much tougher come October 3 versus Catawba," Barton fifth year head coach Tom Schrecengost said.

Barton travels to Salisbury, N.C., for its final dual match of the fall semester when the Lady Bulldogs visit the Indians of Catawba College on Wednesday, October 3 at 2:30 p.m.
