COLUMBIA, S.C. – Sophomore Rebekah Beal scored a pair of goals and fellow sophomore Rebecca Fraser added a goal and an assist for the Lady Bulldogs as the Barton College women's soccer team defeated Columbia International University 3-0 at Sessions Field on Tuesday in non-conference action.

Beal, who tallied her sixth goal of the season for Barton in the 34th minute, gave the Lady Bulldogs (6-5-3) a 1-0 lead over the Rams (5-4-2) after converting on a long pass to the right side of the box from Fraser.

Less than a minute later, Fraser would score her second goal of the season for BC to make it 2-0. Fraser's tally made it back-to-back games in which the Chesapeake, Virginia native has found the back of the net for the Lady Bulldogs.

Senior goalkeeper Haley Sauls recorded four saves in the opening half for Barton. Sauls' counterpart, Sam Wammock registered two saves in net for the Rams.

Both teams tallied six shots on goal in the first half, while the Rams held a 2-0 advantage in corner kicks.

BC would add to its lead in the 52nd minute of the second half as Beal scored her second goal of the night to make it 3-0. The seventh goal of the season for Beal came off a free kick that was taken by sophomore Laura Franco.

Sophomore goalkeeper Megan Bolick started the second half for BC and looked to preserve the shutout. Bolick recorded one save on one shot after entering the contest. Janie Holland registered the shot for the Rams in the 58th minute of action.

The Lady Bulldogs outshot Columbia International 5-1 in the second half, including a 2-1 advantage on frame.

Beal finished the contest with three shots on goal, while junior Macenzie Christensen took a pair of shots for the Barton.

The Lady Bulldogs head to North Greenville University on Saturday afternoon for a 2 p.m. Conference Carolinas contest.
