WILSON, N.C. – After serving Barton College for just under two seasons as head coach of the women's lacrosse team, Brit Kadlowec has resigned, school officials announced Thursday.

Kadlowec fielded Barton's first women's lacrosse team in 2017, and the Lady Bulldogs posted a record of 1-11 in their inaugural season. BC is currently 5-7 overall and 3-4 in Conference Carolinas play this year with two weeks left in the season.

"Barton College is appreciative of Coach Kadlowec's contributions and we wish him well," said Todd Wilkinson, Barton's director of athletics. "The search for a new head coach will begin immediately. I am confident that Barton College will attract highly qualified candidates."

Kadlowec's resignation is effectively immediately. Men's lacrosse head coach Warren Shumate will lead the team through the remainder of its season and assist with the transition to a new head coach.
