Fraser becomes Barton's first all-conference pick in women's lacrosse

HIGH POINT, N.C.Rebecca Fraser made history for Barton College on Saturday by becoming its first all-conference honoree in women's lacrosse.

Fraser was named a Second Team selection on the 2017 Conference Carolinas Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Team, the league announced following an awards banquet at the site of this year's league tournament.

A defender from Chesapeake, Va., Fraser currently leads NCAA Division II in ground balls per match at 4.92 and ranks among the top 15 nationally in caused turnovers.

Fraser collected six or more ground balls in seven of Barton's 12 matches, including a stretch of six straight contests. She also forced five or more turnovers in a match three times.

She was one of eight defenders selected to the 30-player all-conference teams.
