WILSON, N.C.-For the first time since its inaugural season in 2011-12, the Barton College women's golf team will be playing in five golf tournaments in the fall segment of its upcoming season as announced by second-year head coach Ashley Leonard on Friday.

The Lady Bulldogs will open up the 2014-15 campaign with a new fall home tournament. Barton will be hosting the Cutter Creek Invitational in Snow Hill, N.C., on Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 8-9. Barton will be hosting the men's and women's event on one of Eastern North Carolina's most premier layouts – Cutter Creek Golf Club.

After hosting the CenturyLink Invitational with University of Mount Olive in the fall of 2011 and 2012 and not having a home fall event last season, Barton will be hosting its own fall women's tournament for the first time when the Lady Bulldogs tee it up at Cutter Creek.

Coach Leonard expects to compete her entire active roster in the program's home tourney.

The Lady Bulldogs will then have three weeks to prepare for their next event that will begin a busy stretch of four familiar tournaments in five weeks to conclude the fall season.

Barton will return to Tennessee for the King University Invitational on Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 29-30. The Lady Bulldogs have teed it up at the Country Club of Bristol each of the past two seasons. After improving its score by 27 strokes last year, BC looks to continue that trend at the King Invite in 2014.

The Royal Blue and White has participated in the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate at the Sea Trail Resort in Sunset Beach, N.C., in each of its first three campaigns and Barton will continue that trend when the Lady Bulldogs compete there on Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 6-7. BC's steady improvement can be seen in its history in the large showcase tournament that includes overnight accommodations in a Myrtle Beach oceanfront hotel. The Lady Bulldogs only played as individuals in the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate in 2011 before placing 12th in 2012. Barton then moved into the top-10 of the event to place eighth there last year.

Barton women's golf is scheduled to conclude the fall the same way as the squad did last year with back-to-back events in late October on the two courses that hosted the 2013 NCAA South Super Regional and the 2013 NCAA Division II Women's Golf National Championship.

The Lady Bulldogs will first make the trek down to Dade City, Florida for the Saint Leo Invitational at Lake Jovita's South Course on Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 20-21. Barton will cap play in the fall in the Rock Barn Collegiate Invitational hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne on Oct. 27-28. The Lady Bulldogs will once again play the Jackson Course at the Rock Barn Golf & Spa.

Coach Leonard will announce Barton's full spring schedule to go along with the 2015 Conference Carolinas Championships in April later in the calendar year after the fall counting schedule has been played.

NOTE: Barton women's golf schedule is subject to change and fans are encouraged to check throughout the season to confirm dates and locations to all tournaments.
