Maria is a heralded Spanish athlete who enjoyed great success in many big events in the past four years. She won the Aragon (state) Women’s Regional Champion and was runner-up two times. She is the two-time Sportswoman of the Year (2008 and 2010) in Aragon, a very high honor, and has won the Aragon Junior Women’s Championship for eight consecutive years.

She won the Aragon Women’s Regional Division 2 Championship in 2007 and was the medalist at the Copa Ultzama National Tournament in 2008 and 2009. She captured top honors at the 2009 Lacoste Promises Trophy qualifier and was a Lacoste Promises Trophy finalist in Alicante, Spain, that same year.

Tirado has been ranked in the top 10 in the Spanish Infantile (junior) rankings since 2005 and is currently among the top 40 female players nationally under the age of 21.

She was selected three times to train with the Juvenile Committee of the Real Spanish Golf Federation and has been declared a “Qualified Level Athlete” by the Aragon Ministry of Sports. In 2006 and 2007, she placed 7th in the Spanish National Infantile Championship and took fourth in the 2009 Spanish National Puntuable Championship while posting the event’s low round of 2-under 70.

She has a career low of 66 and a tournament low of 69. Her best round in the fall at Barton was a 76, when she tied for seventh at the CenturyLink Invitational.

Her favorite team is Real Zaragoza and she loves ice cream...and anything chocolate!
