WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's basketball team (6-0) keep its perfect record intact with a 62-54 triumph over Chowan (3-4) Monday evening at Wilson Gymnasium.

Barton senior forward Kianna Wynn (Knightdale, N.C.) led all scorers with 23 points including 17 after halftime while senior guard Carmen Richardson (Rocky Mount, N.C.) added six points and 11 assists as the Bulldogs used tremendous unselfishness – assisting on all 21 field goals – in remaining unbeaten.  Wynn added nine rebounds and continues to lead the squad in scoring at 22.0 points per contest.

Chowan's Danielle Weldon (Glen Allen, Va.) scored a team-high 11 points but was the lone Hawks' player in double figures as the Bulldogs limited the visitors to just 33 percent shooting (23-of-69) for the game.

Barton led by a 30-25 margin at halftime and kept its advantage the rest of the way.  The Bulldogs forced the Hawks into foul trouble as the home squad made 16-of-24 free throw attempts including 12 from the charity stripe in the second half.  Barton junior guard Summer Baer (Fleming Island, Fla.) added eight points including two treys before intermission as well.

Barton hosts Fayetteville State on Wednesday night beginning at 6:00 p.m., while Chowan takes on Elon on the road in an exhibition on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., in Elon, N.C.
