Barton women’s basketball stays perfect with 58-55 road victory over Coker

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Barton College women's basketball team (4-0) remained undefeated on the season after pulling out a 58-55 road win over Coker (1-4) Saturday afternoon at the DeLoach Center.

Two players for the Bulldogs – senior guard Carmen Richardson (Rocky Mount, N.C.) and senior forward Kianna Wynn (Knightdale, N.C.) – notched double-doubles for the contest as Barton rallied from a 15-point deficit late in the third period to take the victory.

Richardson led all scorers with 17 points in addition to 11 rebounds while Wynn, the team's leading scorer entering the game at 23.3 points per contest, added 13 points and 17 boards for her second straight double-double in the win.

Coker – which couldn't hold a 42-27 advantage with 3:09 left in the third stanza - was led by Hannah Stull (Newton, N.C.) with 12 points but the Cobras hit just two of 15 three-point attempts for the contest.

Barton senior guard Dinah Neal (Browns Summit, N.C.) broke a 53-all tie with 21 seconds left with a pair of free throws which proved to be the game-winners.  Neal finished with 14 points for the Bulldogs, who also held a 50-40 advantage on the boards and forced the Cobras into 20 turnovers.

Barton has a quick turnaround and will face Elizabeth City State on Monday at 5:30 p.m., in Elizabeth City, N.C.  Coker, meanwhile, travels to Central, S.C., to take on Southern Wesleyan on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
