DURANGO, Colo. – On the heels of two more victories, one of them a 70-49 triumph over No. 4 Limestone College, the Barton College women's basketball team climbed one spot to No. 7 in the latest D2SIDA Southeast Region Poll released Monday.

The Lady Bulldogs, 17-6 overall and 12-3 in Conference Carolinas play, are 14-1 in their last 15 games and now just a game out of first place in the league standings. Belmont Abbey College (16-6), which also moved up one spot in the poll to No. 6, currently leads the conference at 13-2, with Limestone a half-game back at 12-2.

Barton and Belmont Abbey will meet on Wednesday in Belmont, N.C. The Crusaders won the first meeting this season way back on November 29, 77-62, but the Lady Bulldogs played that contest without two key team members. The tip for this big league matchup is slated for 5:30 p.m. in the Wheeler Center.

The five teams ahead of Belmont Abbey and Barton in the D2SIDA poll are in the same order as last week. Carson-Newman University, now 22-1, remains a unanimous No. 1. Wingate (17-3) continues to hold down second in the poll, followed by North Georgia, Limestone and Lander.

Trailing Barton in the No. 8 spot is Flagler College, which fell from sixth following a 1-1 week. Moving into the poll for the first time this year at No. 9 is Georgia College, and slipping one spot into a tie for 10th is Catawba College. Francis Marion rejoined the poll as part of the tie at No. 10.
