WILSON, N.C. – Barton College head softball coach Junior Bailey added six more players to the roster during the spring signing period, bringing the total number of newcomers for 2017-18 to 12.
Four freshmen committed in the spring to play for the Lady Bulldogs, joining six freshmen announced during the fall signing period. Those four include:
- Rebecca Brundage, Bethel (Va.) High School
- Skylar Jones, Pamlico High School
- Alison Montague, North Lenoir High School
- Raven Warren, North Pitt High School
Bailey also added a transfer from Spartanburg Methodist College, Teagan Crosby, and a student-athlete already on campus, Dana Kelly, who won 33 singles matches in her career with the women's tennis program.
"This recruiting class is very strong," Bailey said. "They have a great opportunity ahead of them to make a big splash in Conference Carolinas. I am excited about the mixture of power, speed and athleticism in this whole class. In recruiting this year, I truly went after strong athletes – athletes who are versatile and capable of doing multiple things on the field, and who have strong character and academic backgrounds."
The 12 newcomers will join seven players returning from this year's team, which went 24-27 overall and finished seventh in the conference at 11-11.
