HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College's Vasilis Mandilaris has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Player of the Week, league officials announced earlier today.  Mandilaris is the first weekly league winner of the 2019 campaign.

Mandilaris, a senior outside hitter from Chalkida, GREECE, finished with a team-high 10 kills in addition to three service aces and three digs in a 3-1 setback to Division I George Mason University in the season opener last Saturday at home.  The Patriots downed the Bulldogs by scores of 25-18, 25-22, 19-25 and 25-16.

Mandilaris, a 2018 Second-Team All-Conference Carolinas honoree, is the team's all-time career leader in kills with 888 and was the program's first-ever American Volleyball Coaches Association All-American two years ago.

Barton (0-1) remains at home to take on Long Beach State, the No. 1-ranked team in the nation and the defending NCAA Division I-II National Champion, on Friday at Wilson Gymnasium beginning at 7:00 p.m.
