HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton's Federico Pagliara has been selected as the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Player of the Week for Week 13 of the season, the league announced Monday morning.
The senior setter was an integral part in leading the Bulldogs to a perfect 3-0 record on the week, including two wins in league play. Barton's biggest triumph was a 3-2 decision over King (Tenn.) University that catapulted BC into the top spot in the conference standings.
Pagliara began the week with 48 assists and eight digs in a four-set win over Saint Andrews University before compiling 33 total assists in a three-set sweep of Lees-McRae College. Against King, the Catania, Italy native registered 50 assists, six digs and a career-high seven total blocks to cap off the week of competition.
In total, Pagliara finished with 131 assists (10.92 per set) and guided the Barton offense to a .317 hitting percentage over three matches. He also chipped in 17 digs (1.42 per set) and eight total blocks. For the season, Pagliara leads all conference performers and ranks second in the NCAA with 10.52 assists per set.
Barton takes to the road for its next match, a non-conference contest against Coker College on Tuesday, April 4 in Hartsville, S.C.
