HIGH POINT, N.C. –  Barton College sophomore Aleksa Brkovic has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Player of the Week for Week 11 of the 2017 season, the league announced Monday.

Brkovic led the Bulldogs in kills in both matches played as the team went 2-0 over the weekend against league opponents. Barton claimed a 3-0 road win over defending conference champion Erskine College on Friday in which he totaled 12 kills with a .588 hitting percentage and two service aces.

He followed that performance by leading the Bulldogs to the team's fifth consecutive victory with another 3-0 win over Emmanuel College on Saturday afternoon. The Belgrade, Serbia native had 11 kills and a .529 hitting percentage to go along with four service aces.

For the week, Brkovic averaged 3.83 kills per set while hitting at a .559 clip. He also registered six total service aces and five digs.

The player of the week award is the first for Brkovic in his career and the second for a Barton player this year as freshman Angelos Mandilaris won the award following Week Eight.

Brkovic and the Bulldogs return to action on this weekend when they travel to Fairfax, Va. for a non-conference contest against George Mason University of the EIVA on Friday at 7 p.m.
