NEW ORLEANS, La. – Barton College junior Micah Clemons (Greenville, N.C.) has earned 2019 USTFCCCA NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region honors in outdoor men's track and field in three events:  hammer, shot put and discus.  USTFCCCA is the United States Track and Field & Cross Country Coaches Association.

Clemons – the 2019 Conference Carolinas Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year – also earned all-region honors in all three events as a freshman two years ago.  Including his sophomore campaign, Clemons has collected a total of eight all-region awards.  Clemons was also the region's top performer in the hammer.

This year, Clemons won both the hammer throw and discus throw (a school and conference-record 147'10") and took second place in the shot put at the league championships.  Clemons also established a new school mark in the hammer – 191'0" at the Adidas Winthrop University Invitational – and finished first in the event five times this outdoor season.

Clemons holds the school shot put record (49'3") as well and currently ranks No. 31 in NCAA Division II in the hammer throw.

The top five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors in addition to each of the members of the region's top three relay squads. The regions used for this award – Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast and West – match those used during the cross country season.

A total of 1,831 honors were handed out to USTFCCCA member institutions on Monday, which included 926 to men's programs and an additional 905 to women's programs.
