HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College's Yaxi Pintado has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the 10th week of the season, the league announced Tuesday.

The Madrid, Spain resident was 2-0 overall in singles play and posted an identical 2-0 record in doubles play in two conference matches last week.

Pintado began the week with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 4 over Southern Wesleyan University's Keegan Barkley. His week concluded with a 6-1, 6-0 win as the No. 4 singles player in a match against North Greenville University on Saturday.

In doubles play, the junior won by a score of 8-4 over Southern Wesleyan and 8-3 over North Greenville at No. 2 with partner Jake McCartney.

The player of the week recognition is the first such honor of Pintado's career. It is also the fourth player of the week award for the Barton men's tennis team this season as McCartney earned the honor following Week Two and Rafael Ruiz Velasco won twice following Week's Three and Four.

Barton ends it 2015-16 regular season on Wednesday, April 13 when it travels to Greenville, N.C. for a 5 p.m. matchup with Division I East Carolina University.
