MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Barton men's soccer team (8-7-1) suffered a 2-0 loss to Chowan (10-3-2) in the Quarterfinal Round of the 2018 Conference Carolinas Tournament Championship Monday afternoon at Hawks Field.

The Bulldogs were the sixth seed in this year's tournament while the Hawks are seeded third.  Chowan will take on seventh-seeded Emmanuel (Ga.) Chowan scored both goals in the second half – courtesy of Jake Jensen (Newcastle, ENGLAND) and Danny Gallegos (Fort Payne, Ala.) – as the Hawks defeated the Bulldogs for the second time this year.

Chowan held a 10-7 advantage in shots taken while Elliot Chadderton (Oldham, ENGLAND) earned the shutout victory in goal after stopping two shots.  Barton junior goalkeeper Francisco Noguera (Santiago, CHILE) suffered the loss despite making two saves as well.  The Bulldogs did end the season with a winning record.
