KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Barton men's soccer team remained in the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Poll this week.  The Bulldogs (6-2-1 overall, 3-1-1 in Conference Carolinas) check in at No. 10 in this week's rankings.

"The regional ranking is great recognition of the hard work from our guys and especially the leadership we have seen from our group of seniors (Jacob Baird, Rafael Ribiero, Javier Alcarria, Daniel Gregory and Tolly Beatson)," said Barton Head Men's Soccer Coach Ian McMichael.

The Bulldogs, who have beaten Limestone (ranked third in the region) on the road in late September, are led this year by sophomore forward Ruben Mancio (Cadiz, SPAIN).  Mancio, a recent league and United Soccer Coaches Player of the Week, ranks first on the team in goals scored (eight) and total points (17).

"However, at this point in the season, these rankings don't mean a lot.  Our focus is attempting to improve each day and get better as a team," added McMichael.  "We have another long trip in front of us this weekend against a tricky opponent.  We are looking forward to the challenge as we try to earn another conference result."

Barton returns to the field on Saturday, October 13, when the Bulldogs face Erskine in Due West, S.C., in a Conference Carolinas contest beginning at 4:00 p.m.  Barton will host Chowan at home in a make-up contest on Monday, October 15, at 7:00 p.m.
