KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Barton's Ruben Mancio has been named the United Soccer Coaches Player of the Week for NCAA Division II Men's Soccer, the association announced earlier today.

Mancio, a sophomore forward from Cadiz, SPAIN, picks up the honor right on the heels of being named the Conference Carolinas Player of the Week on Monday.

Mancio tallied three goals and an assist this past week in leading the Bulldogs to a 3-0 mark with victories over Southern Wesleyan (2-0), Regent (5-1) and No. 24 Limestone (4-2).

Mancio scored a goal in the home victory over the Warriors last Monday before tallying two scores including the match-winner along with an assist in the triumph over the Saints Saturday in a key league contest in Gaffney, S.C.  Mancio currently leads the squad in goals scored (seven) and total points (15).  Both numbers also rank second in league play.

Barton (6-1, 3-1) is currently riding a four-match winning streak and is off to its best start in seven years.  In addition, the Bulldogs are ranked ninth in the current United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Southeast Regional poll.

Barton is back in action on Wednesday when the Bulldogs host Francis Marion at 7:00 p.m.
