Barton's Hordvik named Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College keeper Jens Madsen Hordvik has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Hordvik recorded nine saves as the Bulldogs upset nationally-ranked No. 23 Tusculum College on the road. The senior from Arendal, Norway, made several dramatic stops, including a pair of goal-preventing tips over the crossbar, in helping Barton take down the defending South Atlantic Conference Tournament champions.

The two-time all-conference selection is the first Barton men's soccer player to win league player of the week honors since 2014, a season in which the Bulldogs advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history. Ironically, BC also beat Tusculum on the road that season, with Hordvik gaining the win in net as a freshman.
