MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Barton men's lacrosse team (3-8, 2-1) picked up another Conference Carolinas victory with an 18-14 triumph over Chowan (1-8, 0-3) Saturday afternoon at the Hawks' complex.

Three players for the Bulldogs – freshman attacker Mason Chaney (Durkirk, Md.) and sophomore midfielders Zachary Hodge (Murrieta, Calif.) and Jake Copio (Smyrna, Del.) – all found the back of the net four times as Barton won its second straight contest.  Hodge has nine goals over the past two games.

Holding a 5-4 advantage early in the second quarter, Barton took control by reeling off nine straight scores to take a commanding 14-4 lead into intermission.  Copio also dished out a pair of assists for six total points while the Bulldogs held the edge in both shots taken (50-36) and ground balls (49-43).

Chowan was led by Patrick Egan (Colchester, Conn.) with a game-high five goals but the Hawks suffered their eighth straight setback and remained winless in league play.  In goal, Barton sophomore Matt Stocks (Endicott, N.Y.) earned the win after stopping six shots while Chowan's Slater Bender (Louisville, Ky.) was tagged with the loss despite 11 saves.

Barton next takes on Wilmington (Del.) on Tuesday in Norfolk, Va., at Norfolk Academy while Chowan hosts Mars Hill on Tuesday beginning at 4:00 p.m.
