INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Barton College's Bryson Boyette has qualified as an individual to the 2019 NCAA Division II Men's Golf South/Southeast Regional Tournament.  The regional will take place at the Mission Inn Resort and Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida, over three days from Thursday, May 9, through Saturday, May. 11.

Boyette, a sophomore from Wilson, N.C., and a graduate of Ralph L. Fike High School, is one of four individuals from the Southeast Region to qualify to the postseason.

Boyette was recently named the 2019 Conference Carolinas Men's Golfer of the Year and earned first-team all-league honors after leading the squad with a 72.4-scoring average.  Boyette placed in the top five in three tournaments so far this year and led the Bulldogs to a second-place finish at the 2019 league championships in Snow Hill, N.C., two weeks ago.

The 2019 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships is scheduled for five days – Monday, May 20, through Friday, May 24 – at The Resort at Glade Springs in Daniels, West Virginia.

The top three teams from each of the four super regionals will advance to the finals in addition to the top two golfers not with an advancing team.  The remaining eighth berths will be allocated based on the regions represented in the prior year's head-to-head medal play portion of the championships, with a maximum number of teams from a given region capped at seven.

The Bulldogs are making an appearance in the regionals – as either a team or individual – for the first time since Austin Doerr in 2015.
