Barton men’s golf in third place after opening round of the 2019 league championship

SNOW HILL, N.C. – The Barton men's golf team shot a 292 (+4) – good for third-place overall – after round one of the 2019 Conference Carolinas Championship Sunday at the Cutter Creek Golf Club.  Barton is also serving as the host institution.

King (Tenn.) leads the tournament by three strokes over North Greenville after 18 holes of play after shooting a one-under 287 on the par-72, 7,191-yard course.

Barton is led sophomore Bryson Boyette (Wilson, N.C.), who is tied for second overall with a one-under 71.  Sophomore Austin Schone (Galena, Ohio) is tied for 12th overall after carding a 73 (+1) as well for the Bulldogs.  North Greenville's Seth Robertson is the top individual after round one with a four-under 68.

The second of the three-round tournament takes place on Monday.
