Barton men’s golf stands in second after day one of the 2018 Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate

OCEAN ISLE BEACH, N.C. – The Barton men's golf team is tied for second after the first round Monday of the 2018 Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate which is taking place at the Ocean Ridge Plantation Lion's Paw Course. 

The Bulldogs shot six-over 290 on the par-71, 6,709-yard course and is tied with Lenoir-Rhyne after 18 holes of play while Lincoln Memorial leads the tournament with a 279 (-5).  LR and LMU are co-hosting this year's tournament.

Barton is once again led by sophomore Bryson Boyette (Wilson, N.C.), who is tied for second overall with a two-under 69 after round one.  Bulldog Senior Scott Pechacek (Cary, N.C.) carded a 70 (-1) – good for a fourth-place tie – while Lincoln Memorial's Dan Bradbury leads overall with a three-under 68.

The second and final round of the tournament takes place on Tuesday.
