WILSON, N.C. – Three members of the Barton College men's golf program – Derek Hamm, Scott Pechacek and Justin Plane – have been named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), the organization announced Wednesday.

The award is based on both academic and athletic performance. Recipients must be juniors or seniors with at least a 3.20 grade point average. Division II honorees must also have a stroke average of 78.0 or better on the course.

Hamm, a senior from Heath, Ohio, is receiving the honor for a second straight season. Pechacek, a junior from Cary, N.C., and Plane, a junior from Whitby, Canada, are being recognized in their first season of eligibility.

All three Barton players finished the year with a grade point average of 3.7 or better. They joined Robert Wilkinson of King University as the four student-athletes representing Conference Carolinas programs on the national list of 126 Division II honorees.

Barton has now received the award 18 times in the school's NCAA Division II history, including each of the past six years.
