HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College's Bobby Stenborg has been named the 2018-19 Conference Carolinas Winter Scholar Athlete of the Year for men's basketball.

Stenborg, a senior forward from Garner, N.C., carries a grade point average of 3.27 while majoring in business administration.  This year, Stenborg earned all-league second-team honors while finishing second on the squad in both scoring (13.9 ppg) and rebounding (6.2 rpg).

In addition, Stenborg led the Bulldogs to a 22-8 record this season including a 14-4 mark in league play – good for second place – and was named to the league's academic all-conference team.  In 2017-18, Stenborg garnered First-Team All-Conference Carolinas accolades.

The Conference Carolinas Winter Scholar Athletes are voted on by the Student-Athlete Affairs Committee.  This prestigious award is presented annually to one student-athlete in each sport for recognition of their outstanding performance both on the field and in the classroom.
